Got a couple of extra hours you want to fill by getting out of the house and getting out of yourself? Or maybe you could do with a little extra help from a friendly neighbor.  The Village at Kentlands and Lakelands can help fill that bill and be fun too!

The original goal of the Village at Kentlands and Lakelands is to help older adults age in place longer.  But the pandemic has brought out the additional need to help people who are feeling lonely and depressed, sometimes for the first time in their lives! As people age, oftentimes mobility can become an issue that makes it hard to leave the house, which adds to the loneliness.  Recent retirees sometimes struggle with finding their sense of purpose and creating new social connections with people who are not co-workers.  Having a sense of purpose is essential to our human experience.  And having social connections gives us a feeling of belonging and fitting in.

Consider joining the Village at Kentlands and Lakelands if you:

  • are looking for a new life purpose
  • are interested in making new friends
  • are looking for someone to do things with
  • ·need assistance with driving to appointments, getting groceries, or small household chores
  • ·value helping others
  • want to learn about new things
  • want to give back to your community

There are so many reasons for joining the Village! You can be someone who needs help, someone who wants to help, someone who wants to learn, or someone who is seeking new friends.  Or you can be all of those. The way to make this happen is to join our Village. Don’t wait. Do so today. We are waiting for you.  It’s time to change your life!
